The dingo is a dog that is thought to
have been brought to Australia by Asian seafarers around 3500-4000 years
ago.

Identification:
Sandy-yellow to red-ginger coat, most
with white markings on feet, tail tip and chest, sometimes a black muzzle.
Pricked ears, bushy tail.
Call/Song:
Distributed
throughout mainland Australia, along with most islands (except Tasmania).
Habitat:
Inhabits a variety of habitats, from deserts
to cool mountain forests.
Movement:
Often seen alone, butr usually grouped
in a social pack.
Feeding:
Often hunt in packs and devour any available
wildlife, from insects through to water buffalo.
Breeding/Nesting:
During breeding season the members of
a pack meet every few days to breed and rear pups.
