Size: 190-210mm. The male is larger. 

Identification: Upper parts plain to dark olive green. Has a pale yellow gape and crescent patch over the ear.
 

Call/Song:  A loud machine-gun chatter, Song: Single harsh, tchuuu.

Rainforest and fringing growth on east coast and ranges between McIlwraith Range, Qld and Melbourne.

Habitat: Habitat varies from rainforest to the wetter eucalypt forests and the drier open forests.

Feeding:  eats insects, nectar and fruit.

Breeding/Nesting:  Breeds August-January. Builds a cup-shaped nest of bark strips, leaves, moss and cobweb.

Movement: Mainly found high in the forest canopy where it scavanges for food.

Status:


Distribution: Found throughout the rainforest areas. It feeds in the gardens of Binna Burra Lodge and O'Reilly's Guest House (it may even enter the dining room to take food). 

Abundance:Very common.
