Minimal Impact Message
Pressure on our
National Parks is constantly increasing. Therefore it is essential
that you need to assist in the conservation of these important areas. If
you are visting Lamington National Park, the following guidelines by Queensland
National Parks & Wildlife Service should be followed:
Try at all times to leave no trace of your visit.
All
rubbish
(including
food scraps) must be carried out with you. You can also assist in caring
for the park by carrying out any rubbish that you find. It is a good
idea to carry a small rubbish bag with you.
No
open fires are allowed within Lamington National Park - Stoves
must be used unless there are fireplaces provided at developed picnic and
camping areas. Timber should not be collected out of the forest as it is
important to the natural environment.
Stay
on the walking trails - it is not only dangerous to leave the established
walking tracks but it also results in damage to the native vegetation.
Never cut or trample vegetation.
Be considerate - keep noise to a minimum so that others can enjoy the
natural sounds of the rainforest.
