Lauraceae

The Pepperberry is a large canopy tree that is usually straight and tall with small buttresses that are slightly rounded and do not extend far from the trunk. The bark is light grey and smooth. 

Leaves:  Leaves are obovate to oblong, rounded at the the apex and turned down at the edges. They are smooth on the upper surface and finely hairy underneath. The hairs on the midrib and net veins are brownish in colour. 
Flowers:
Fruit: Fruits are round and black about 1cm in diameter. They are eaten by the large fruit pigeons.
