Size: Length -
130mm.
Identification: Distinctive
broad leaf-shaped tail. Shades of grey, brown to olive with prominent lichen-like
mottles and blotches. Along the spine, there is usually a dark-edged, pale
reddish brown to pale grey stripe, with large pale blotches running along
it. There is usually a blackish brown M- shaped mark at the base of the
head. The belly is whitish to pale olive.
Call/Song:
Found in northern Australia and in isolated pockets along the Eastern coast
and ranges to the central coast of New South Wales.
Habitat:
Rainforest and wet sclerophyll forests as well as boulder-strewn eucalypt
forests and heathlands.
Feeding: Feeds
mainly on large arthropods.
Breeding/Nesting: Lays
clutches of 2 parchment-shelled eggs.
Movement: Dwells in trees, shrubs
and rocks. Its distinctive colouring gives it obvious camouflaging abilities
and thus forages on exposed vertical surfaces.
